- We collect what you give us: your email to subscribe, your account if you join Pro, and prices you report.
- We use it to run HayWire: send the newsletter, run your Pro account, and publish hay prices. Reports are credited by region, never by name.
- We don't sell your personal information. Our pages do load Google and Meta advertising tags (Section 6).
- Ask us to delete your data any time: haywireagprices@gmail.com.
This summary is a courtesy. The sections below are the policy.
Who we are
HayWire Ag LLC ("HayWire," "we," "us") publishes haywireag.com, The Wire newsletter and HayWire Pro. This policy covers the personal information those services handle. Questions, or a request about your data: haywireagprices@gmail.com.
When you subscribe to The Wire
We send your email address, and the name of the form you signed up through, to Beehiiv, the platform that stores our subscriber list and sends the newsletter and a welcome email.
Beehiiv records whether each email is opened and which links are clicked. We look at those numbers per issue and in total. Links in the newsletter carry tags (for example utm_source=newsletter) so we can tell which issue a visit came from.
Each subscriber gets a personal referral link from Beehiiv. When someone subscribes through yours, Beehiiv counts it toward your referral reward.
Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
When you join HayWire Pro
Payment. You join and pay through Beehiiv's checkout; Stripe processes the payment for Beehiiv. HayWire never receives or stores your card details. We read from Beehiiv whether your email address has an active Pro subscription.
Your account. We store, in our database:
- your email address;
- your password, only as a one-way scrypt hash, if you set one;
- your two-step verification secret, encrypted, and your recovery codes, only as one-way hashes, if you turn two-step verification on;
- your Google account ID, if you sign in with Google (Section 5);
- the dashboard settings you choose: your state, hay type, budget, display name, whether you buy or sell, and whether you want alerts;
- the hay purchases or sales you log: date, hay type, grade, tons, price and your state.
Signing in. A sign-in gives your browser a random session token in a secure cookie (Section 6); we keep only a one-way hash of it. Sessions last up to 30 days.
Security log. We record sign-in attempts, including failed ones, with the email address and IP address they came from. We use this log to stop password guessing and account probing.
Trades you log. A purchase or sale you log is also copied, with your email address, into our private review queue. If we approve it, its price may appear in our market data, credited to your state, never to your name or email address.
Market alerts. Your dashboard lets you turn on email alerts for new reports from your state. Alert emails are not being sent yet. When they are, they will go through Resend, our email provider, which will receive your email address and the alert. You can turn alerts off in your dashboard.
When you report a price or write to us
Reporting a price (haywireag.com/report). We store the location, price, hay details and date you enter, plus your name and email address if you give them, in our private review queue. We also store a one-way hash of your IP address to limit how many reports one address can send. If we approve a report, it is published in the newsletter and on our pages credited to your region (for example, "Oklahoma producer"), never to your name or email address. We use your email address only to reply about your report.
Sponsor inquiries (the media kit form). We store your company, name, email address, the package you picked and your message, plus a one-way hash of your IP address, and send the inquiry to our team's Telegram chat so someone answers quickly.
Email. Replies to the newsletter and messages to haywireagprices@gmail.com stay in that mailbox. Auction houses sometimes email us their sale results; our team may use an AI tool from Anthropic to transcribe the prices from those emails. If we answer your question in the newsletter, we credit it to your region only, never to your name or email address.
Businesses we contact. To find sponsors, we research businesses on their own public websites and keep the contact details they publish there (the company, a published name or role, an email address or phone number) in our own spreadsheet. We use them only to contact the business about sponsoring HayWire, and remove them on request.
Google user data
Sign in with Google. When you use it, Google tells us your email address, whether Google has verified it, and your Google account ID. We use them only to sign you in to your HayWire Pro account. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, files or mail, and we do not use Google sign-in data for advertising.
HayWire's own tools. Some of our internal tools use Google APIs with HayWire's own Google account, to create email drafts in our own Gmail and to update our own spreadsheet. They never access a reader's or member's Google account.
Limited Use. HayWire's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who processes your information
We use these services to run HayWire. Each receives only what it needs for its part:
- Beehiiv: the subscriber list, newsletter delivery, open and click tracking, referrals, and Pro checkout.
- Stripe: Pro payments, on Beehiiv's behalf.

- Netlify: hosting, the server functions behind our forms and sign-in, and request logs.
- Google: sign-in with Google, Analytics and Ads tags, fonts, and HayWire's own Gmail and spreadsheet.
- Meta: the Meta Pixel.
- Resend: Pro market alert emails, once alerts are switched on (not yet).
- Telegram: our team's alerts, including sponsor inquiries.
- Anthropic: the AI that drafts our newsletter and analysis from market data and transcribes auction emails. We do not send it our subscriber list or account data.
- GitHub: runs our scheduled jobs and stores our code and encrypted backups of our database.
